WHAT IS STATE CHIP?
Great news! More immigrant children will be able to access health coverage thanks to a new health insurance program.
State CHIP is a new health coverage program that removes barriers to coverage to kids who meet all the requirements, including income-eligibility but lack one: immigration status. It creates a state funded health insurance program for working immigrant families that mirrors the federal CHIP program.
The Utah State CHIP Program will provide newly eligible children with comprehensive healthcare coverage, including well-child exams, immunizations, doctor visits, prescriptions, mental health services, and more.
Enrollment for State CHIP will begin on January 1st, 2024.
